Dr. Salifu Nanga is a Lecturer at the School of Basic and Biomedical Sciences, University of Health and Allied Sciences. He is a statistician and mathematician by training, and is fluent in the French language. He currently teaches courses like Quantitative Literacy, Biostatics, and Research Methods at UHAS.
EDUCATION
Dr. Nanga has a BSc. degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Development Studies, Tamale and an MSc. and MPhil. degree in Statistics from the Regent University and University of Ghana respectively. He also holds a PhD in Applied Statistics from the C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Ghana.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining UHAS, he worked as a part-time lecturer at Wisconsin International University College. He is also the co-founder of a small research and consultancy firm that specializes in conducting research and offers training for firms and individuals in areas of research. He is also currently a member of the Gestational Weight Gain (GWG) Pooling Project Consortium.
RESEARCH OUTPUT
His research interests include statistical and mathematical modelling of all kinds of health-related issues. This includes the application of Statistical Distributions, Data mining, Survival, Time series and Stochastic models. He has publications in peer-reviewed journals.
