Dr. Ralph Kwakye is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Basic Science, School of Basic and Biomedical Sciences (SBBS), University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) Ho, in Ghana. He is also a member of the Schools Appointment and Promotions Committee. He was a lecturer with the University of Education Winneba, Distance Education and also a Tutor with ST. Peter’s Senior High, Nkwatia-Kwahu.
EDUCATION
He had his Bachelor of Science (BSc. Hons) Degree in Physics with specialty in Materials Science and Geophysics at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and later pursued a Master of Science (MSc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Science at KNUST, Kumasi and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (P.G.D.E) at the University of Education, Winneba.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Dr. Kwakye’s teaching career started when he was appointed as a Tutor by the Ghana Education Service (G.ES) to teach Physics in 2003 at St. Peter’s Senior High, Nkwatia - kwahu. He held positions such as Dinning Hall Master, Sectional Head for Physics and Faucold House Master. He also taught Physics to distance education students of the University of Education, Winneba at the Nkawkaw center. Currently, He teaches Physics to students from Physician Assistance and Health promotion, health information programmes, all from the medical school and school of public health, UHAS in Ghana. He is also a member serving on the Schools Appointments and Promotion Committee.
RESEARCH OUTPUT
Dr. Kwakye is an accomplished researcher and has conducted extensive research in Regeneration of used engine oil using ZEOLITES and METAKAOLIN. He has research interest in the application of Zeolites in inhibiting microbial activities and solving some Health issues such as in the treatment of wounds and inhibiting the growth of Cancer. He has a number of research publications in peer-review journals and also in the journal of physics application. He is a member of the Ghana Association of Science Teachers (GAST) and also a member of Zeolite Research Team based in K.N.U.S.T, Physics Department, Kumasi. Dr. Kwakye is active in religious and social activities.
