Besides molecular epidemiology of parasitic diseases, he is also interested in emerging infectious diseases in Ghana and the sub-region. His research is focused on molecular epidemiology of emerging infectious diseases, genetic variations in emerging pathogens and its clinical corelates.
In 2011, he won Young African Scientist award to do 6-weeks course in Research Design and Ethics in University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He was subsequently sponsored by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in May 2017 to be trained on epidemiology of infectious diseases, DNA detection techniques as well as sequencing and sequencing analysis in National Institute Infectious Diseases, Toyama and Murayama campuses, Japan.
